US trade deficit magic
11.20.04 (11:14 am)   [edit]

I have a magic trick.  I bet I can predict who manufactured all of products in your house.

You don't believe me?

Ok, here I go, the mighty swamy ....

China.

Did I guess it?

I'm good hugh?

For my next trick, I'll make the value of the dollar diappear ...

Oh, well, not me, guess who?

Disclaimer: Magician guesses are usually only about 70% correct.  Not liable for you getting angry.

US trade deficit
11.19.04 (5:41 am)   [edit]
Here's the problem:

countryA(1.20) = workCost(0.20) + materialCost(1.00);
countryB(2.00) = workCost(1.00) + materialCost(1.00);

Customer Choice:

CountryB(2.00) CountryA(1.20);

purchase = countryA(1.20);

Future Reality:

countryFuture(1.00) = workCost(0.00) + materialCost(1.00);

purchase = countryFuture(1.00);

What does this all mean? Don't pay your workers is the future trend. Which ever country gets to free labor first wins. Free Trade, after analyzing it and seeing that it means just getting the better price says logically the best price is "free."

Free! You heard me. Totally free labor.

You then say, "well, you have to pay people something..."

I say, "no, just build a robot. No longer do you have to worry about safe labor conditions or feeding anyone."

Then you say, "fine, um once you build the products, how will the people BUY them?"

I sit there and ponder that for a moment ...

With the cry for no P2P, let's not forget that the only reason why P2P exists is to increase the awarness of what it takes to download information in its totatality without error.
-Fast Download
-Quality Download
and
-ensuring you have the programs to run those files.

Winamp and the AOL demise
11.11.04 (7:05 am)   [edit]
Winamp is by far the #1 media player that exists on the net. It's effect on the online world is only felt by the soon after development of players like Real and Windows Media Player. Both players pale in comparison to Winamp.

What makes Winamp so great? Everything that Real and Windows Media Player created came from Winamp. Without the existance of Winamp, I doubt the level which MP3's reached the main stream and the ability to do anything media related that actually "works" most of the time would not be achieved if not for the development of Winamp.

I mean for Winamp to go away would take a huge chunck out of the net because it's for the online community and not directly corporate created. It should be donated to the GNU if they feel that they can't profit from it and not get rid of it just because the other players whose only ability to exist only happens do the the corporations model that support them perpetuates their existance.

I really enjoy winamp. The video is flawless. It's so user friendly that there's no ambiguity as to what you can do with it. It's spawning so many online television stations that it's existance threten the traditional ways in which TV is created.

Imagine TV with "no" commericals. Imagine streaming videos that don't download to your computer so there's no copyright infringement, you're just simply viewing video on someone else's computer and when you're done, just disconnect. No one can tell you what to do with your own property.

The online radio stations allow their music to be heard when the local radio stations only play their music if there's some financial gain to it. It may change in the future but for now, it's the new way of not just hearing music broadcast on your own home town radio stations where the only way to hear music in other countries is to get a stronger antenna. You can hear "any" kind of music "anywhere" in the world directly from the artists where the artists themselves benefit. While the radio show is on, you just simply have to connect your mike, internet cam, website and keyboard to instantly communicate with that radio station how you feel about the content you provide. No more jumping through the corporate hopes of disinformation on how the broadcast and what they broadcast because who won't just be restricted to a monopolistic hold by a few local station who wants to tell you how the world goes in their eyes.

Just Winamp in its self in many ways is the personification of the American Dream in technology and there is no Corporate Media player to take its place that is not in some way connect with the very paradign that slows the educational process of what is more important the the imaginary "dramas" they call TV shows.

Internet TV also allows you to actually "do" something while you watch TV. Most people go into some alpha wave stupor and just stare and a screen for hours and do nothing. Try watching someone watching TV without looking at what they are looking at and better yet, monitor their brain activity. The person just sits there in a trance. It's like whoa.

Anyway, there has to be someone way of keeping Winamp alive being that it was originally developed by programmers not looking for profit but a way of helping to change the world for the better.

Afgan and truth
11.02.04 (7:23 am)   [edit]
Something strange dealing with Afganistan. You know, um, Osama Bin Laden has admitted that he is responsible for the WTC bombing. That means the Afganistan War was totally justified because Afganistan harbored Osama Bin Laden. The media fails to make light of that fact.

To put it in more perspective, a question may be asked was the Afganistan War justified? Early questions and statments included: "Did Osama Bin Laden really do it and/or was the war with Afganistan justified?." (In whatever order you want :))

Now the only point is now we can now rest easily (if that can truly be said) that "yes", Osama Bin Laden "was" responsible for the WTO bombing and any ties he may have with it.

Have a nide day :) !
