questions ...
12.22.04 (12:25 pm) [edit]
Why do people say dumb things disguised as legitimate questions?
in other words ...
Why do people ask a question, where as they have a thought that generates that question because there is no effect without cause, and tell you how you should feel about the question they asked? If they really felt you should give the answer they expect, then why do they ask the rhetorical question in the first place?

age of technological change
12.22.04 (7:54 am) [edit]
The technology has accelerated to a point that we no longer have to worry about immortality. Immortality, with the unleash of the present rate of technology will be achieved, with enough steadfastness, within 20 years. Let me explain:
Step 1. Creation of Implants - Choclea Implant - Eye implant - Memory enhancement implant
Step 2 Upload all functions to implants with central harddrive
Step 3 Continue research involving (non invasive) monkey to computer communication.
Step 4 All research will be guided towards replacing missing parts with cybernetic parts that responds to the new interaction mechanisms.
Step 5 Create total robotic system for transfer of function systems and mirror human where human can be either.
Step 6 Humans can transfer back and forth at leisure.
Step 7 The brain will be fully understood to the point where if you would like to clone yourself, it will be possible, however, unwise due to DNA degradation with every clone generation.
Step 8 Once humans can be uploaded, destruction of a human becomes impossible due to the ubiquitous nature of the new paradigm.
Step 9 Normal exploration can continue with little concern for human bodies.

Hey!
:)
How come ...
:)
Okay, how come NASA spends so much money to launch things quickly? Why not use the 3 stage space approach.
1. Create helium based transport to sub-orbital. 2. Have sub-orbital platform always sub-orbital. 3. Create sub-orbital to orbital transport.
This idea takes about 6 days to get someone to orbit but it's dirt cheap. (http://www.jpaerospace.com/)

4th dimension
12.20.04 (9:42 am) [edit]
Came across an article about the 4th dimension or higher dimensions. Well, if you see anything 4th dimensional, it'll be flat. Anything 4d in our dimension will be flat, just 2D.
There, now go looking for flat 2D objects.

What if the world or universe as we know it were in a structure, erected from railings?

Solar Power
12.14.04 (8:43 am) [edit]
I've given the idea of using solar power a lot of thought. Solar power will work, so will wind generation. Both will work hands down and free energy to everyone. But it's a winding road that has to be smoothed out.
With all new houses, ensure home owners incorporate solar panels into the building of the house. If the home owners decides to rent the house to someone, give the new tenants a switch that gives them the option of using and paying their local power company a variable increasing rate for energy or you, the homeowner, who will offer a fixed decreasing rate because you, as the homeowner, only charge enough money to pay for the price of power panels divided over 20 years (plus a little extra for the misses).
Let's say for ever watt it equivocates to $1.00 in equipment costs.
10,000 watts = $10,000 ($10,000 for equipment comes from Home Power magazine)
$10,000/20 = $500 (20 = years) and ($500 = a year)
$500/12 = $41.67 repeating (12 = months)
So if a house takes 10,000 watts to power the entire thing, just spend $10,000 for a system that lasts 20 years. Then tenant will pay 50 a month for power and that's it. Over the years, the price of solar panels will go down (the price of natural resource will keep rising exponentially) and the price the tenant pays will decrease practically to zero.
Who will make it rich? Homeowners and the solar power company make it rich. Who else? Fish, the planet and our future generations also richly benefit.

The Answer is 42 ... the question?
12.07.04 (10:10 am) [edit]
People tell you that there should be no such thing. Psychologists tell you there’s no such thing. The DSM (IV) tells you that any thing you can think of weird that there’s no such thing. No scientific investigation, just a bunch of words. You ask a person, “What is wrong?” But you really don’t care. You just want to say it’s wrong by proven techniques designed by proven techniques of a bygone era. Those techniques are well-known and can be manipulated at will to make anything that actually exists look like anything in the DSM (IV). Like “swamp gas”: Reflections off of this and that and the other. I say it’s the year 2004 and “Buck Rogers” took play in 1984. “2001: The Year We Make Contact” came out in 2001 and well every science fiction movie that ever existed came out around or before the year 200.
So, what’s up? Why were all the science fiction writers wrong? Now mind you, the best science fiction writers are some of the most brilliant scientific minds you can ever come across. Not science fantasy, that’s a bunch of dragons, I’m talking about Dyson’s Spheres, Three Laws, HAL and Ring World Engineers (which, by the way is where ‘HALO’ borrowed the basis of their game from). We have SETI and the Drake equation. We have ancient equations like the Tree of Life, the Seed of Life, the Golden Ratio and then of course there’s Imoteph. It boils down to symmetrical predictions around basic themes based on belief and belief is to accept as true without proof (like religion). All I know is earth is analogist to a house where you live in a closet in a house on a small island. You never leave the house buy you insist there no one outside the house. So you throw a solar powered round ball radio outside of your house in hopes that there’s someone just like you outside. So you’re guiding it around with your radio controller and since everyone uses a fiber optic internet, digital cell phones and some of the latest high tech thing-a-majig, no one really fells like spending the money or resources on some idiot screwing around on all of these small frequencies on an isolate out of the way island not large enough to make any real money off of and figure the culture shock to this small islander would be just to much to handle and since you’re an idiot anyway to believe such stupid stuff, the smart bet would be to make sure you never leave the island where you’d probably croak of natural causes and somebody we’ll eventually put their own high tech house on what use to be your island and make better use of it.
All of this just means that all the king’s horses and all the kings men, in theory, couldn’t get humans off this planet and explore the galaxy in any reasonable time because people say that there should be no such thing
